Concurrent College
Earn College and High School Credits at the Same Time
Union students have the opportunity to enroll in academically challenging courses through Tulsa Community College while still enrolled in High School classes. Not only do students earn college credit, but their college courses also count toward high school graduation requirements!
Requirements
In order to be eligible for concurrent enrollment classes, students must have 1 of the following:
- National ACT – 19 composite
- Pre-ACT – 19 composite
- TCC Residual ACT – 19 composite
- SAT – 990 composite
- PSAT – 990 composite
- Or HS GPA – 3.0 unweighted
College-level course rigor requires disciplined study habits, research, independent study, and group work.
Attendance and eligibility are monitored as required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA).
Grades placed on the transcript are used for Grade Point Average and class ranking calculations and are assigned a 5.0 weight on the Union weighted grading scale. College course grades are monitored and used for determining OSSAA eligibility on a weekly basis.
Course Details
The TCC courses meet on the Union High School campus on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday during the school day. Students also have access to free tutoring for Freshman Composition and College Algebra directed by a certified UHS teacher on Wednesdays and Fridays during the hour they have concurrent classes.

- Initial Application Fee (one time only) $20.00
- ID Fee $5.00
- 11th Grade Standard Course Fee (up to 12 credit hours) $88.35
- 12th Grade Standard Course Fee (Up to 18 credit hours) $88.35
- On-Line Tech Fee (if applicable) $36.00
How to Enroll
Contact your school counselor for more information and to sign up for a concurrent enrollment course. There are many factors to consider when selecting courses, so speak with your guidance counselor about whether you plan to attend college in state or out of state, which state school you plan to attend, and whether you have taken and passed any AP exams.
EDGE
The concurrent college program is different from EDGE, which allows eligible students to complete two years of college through Tulsa Community College while still attending high school.
